Summary of steps to migrate from people server (VMS) to UMdrive

1. Go to http://movepeople.memphis.edu and click on "Make Zip File". Enter your VMS username and password and login (It will take a little time to zip all your files while you see the same web page and think your login did not work). It will then present you with a link. Right click on the link and select "Save Target As" and download and save this zip file to your local computer. The zip file will be named as "usernamewww.zip".
2. Unzip the file and you will see files under a folder named your username. Double click on this folder and you will see a "www" folder. If you do not have any software to unzip files, download Winzip from www.winzip.com.
3. Now open "Internet Explorer" only and not any other web browser. Sign in to http://umdrive.memphis.edu, then click on the "Web Folder" icon located at the top (this will map your UMdrive account as a network place under "My Network Places" on your computer). You will see a window open with all the contents of your UMdrive folders and files.
   Note: If this window does not open, disable popups for this website and try again. You should see "username on umdrive.memphis.edu" drive under "My Network Places" on your computer.
4. Copy the entire "www" folder that you had unzipped earlier in step 1 and paste it into this window in step 3.
5. Now go to the UMdrive website (that you are already logged into) and click on the share icon for the "www" folder. Check the boxes under "Read" column for "Public". Click on "Apply Now" to save changes.
6. Make sure there is an “index.html” page in your “www” directory. If not then rename the homepage or the first page of your website to “index.html”. Also make sure any link that points to the people server (www.people.memphis.edu/~username) must be changed for it to work. You may make use of the "Tools for Faculty" listed below.
7. You are now finished migrating to UMdrive. Your new website address or URL is http://umpeople.memphis.edu/username

Tools for Faculty
Below is a zip file that contains a basic web page template with new University/College logo and no frames. Download the zip file to your computer and unzip it. You will find a file called "index.html" and a folder called "images". Put these in your "www" folder in UMdrive. The "index.html" will be your home page. You will however need uuid and password to download the zip file. Also listed is a web editor that can be handy in setting up and making changes to your website (at your own risk).
